For LACon V we have 2 wonderful options in the Hilton Anaheim and Anaheim Marriott.
- The Hilton Anaheim will be a main hotel of the convention containing both Programming activities and hosting our Parties in the evening. It is a great option for those that want to be right in the action. At $179 (before taxes/fees) a night for Kings and Queen/Queen we have all the possible options you could be looking for to be right in the middle of all the action. The Hilton also has a number of food options available for all times of the day from Starbucks® in the morning to grab and go meals in their food court to sit down options at Poppy’s Restaurant. For more information please visit our Hilton Anaheim page. To book here please use this booking link.
- The Anaheim Marriott is located just 0.1 miles from the Hilton across a pedestrian friendly plaza. The Marriott offers options starting @ $189 (before taxes/fees) a night for Kings and $209 (before taxes/fees) a night for Double/Double. It also has numerous options to cater to your food needs from a grab and go market to NFuse Restaurant. For more information please visit our Anaheim Marriott page. If this is the option for you please use this booking link.
The plaza mentioned between the hotels will also be active during the convention. Beyond being able to cross between hotels or sit under the palm trees and soak up the California sun we plan to have food trucks during the food hours so this will be a social hub out in the fresh air.
Special Item – Our Mascot
We are so excited to debut, in cooperation with Makeship, a special plush animal themed for LAcon V: Fuzzy the Channel Island Fox.
Fuzzy the Channel Island Fox is the mascot of LAcon V, the 84th World Science Fiction Convention. Named after Marilyn “Fuzzy Pink” Niven (1940-2023), a long-time fixture of science fiction conventions who was known for her efforts to welcome new fans to the community, this plush Fuzzy The Fox will be a memento of LAcon V that will be a treasured keepsake and a tribute to a well loved science fiction fan.
Our site features a page dedicated to our mascot character, to Fuzzy Pink Niven, and to the artists that brought Fuzzy to life in our publications and marketing, Teddy Harvia (the 2d version) and Lex Nakashims (the 3d version). You can also find out about the Channel Island fox on that page, and why we chose this endangered but persevering creature to represent our convention.

PLEASE NOTE: Please read the Dealers’ FAQ for details on CA business license BEFORE you fill out and submit the Dealers Application.
Art Show
The art show is selling well, with over 70 artists registered so far! The link to register is here: lacon.org/artshow/
The cost is $45 per panel 3’ by 4’ and/or table space (1/2 a standard hotel table or 30” by 36”).
So far we have special displays from Tim Kirk, Vincent Villafranca, and Kelly Freas.
An artist alley is planned and registration for that will go live shortly. We are planning to sell tables in 4 hour time slots to accommodate as many as we can.
Like last year a voice auction is not planned, so the silent auction will have no limit to the number of bids. Quick sale is also planned along with a print shop.
So this is much more than “we will have an art show”!
Parties
Worldcons are noted for their nightly room parties which highlight upcoming conventions, science fiction/fantasy/cosplay groups, and anything else people would like to celebrate. For LAcon V, parties will be held on the fifth floor of the Anaheim Hilton. If you would like to host a party, please visit lacon.org/parties.
We will provide you with more information as we get closer to the convention. Meanwhile, if you have questions, please reach out to us at parties@lacon.org.
Community Fund
The LA Worldcon Community Fund (LAWCF), inspired by the funds and initiatives that have come before, is here to facilitate bringing more people into our community. The LAWCF is a special fund to help defray the expenses of attending LAcon V for the following groups of people:
- Fans or program participants from marginalized racial and ethnic groups
- LGBTQIA+ fans or program participants
- Los Angeles and Anaheim area fans of limited means
If you would like to learn more about the LAWCF and how donations will be utilized, or would like to apply for assistance to attend LAcon V, please examine the information provided at lacon.org/communityfund/

The In Memoriam List
We always like to remember and honor our departed fans. Our website now features a listing of members of our community who have passed away since the In Memoriam list was compiled for Seattle Worldcon 2025 last year (covering the period beginning on August 1, 2025). Check it out at lacon.org/inmemoriam. If you know of someone you believe should be included on this list, please let us know by filling out our Site Additions form, which can be found through a link on the In Memoriam page. You can also follow our In Memoriam feed on BlueSky (@wcinmemoriam.bsky.social)
We express our thanks to Steven H Silver for maintaining this list on behalf of the community.
Always remember… Adventure Awaits!
