Get Your Housing Reservations Now

Our housing is open and we thank you for your quick response.  If you are still in need of a  room for the convention, please consider the Marriott as we still have a number of rooms available for you and your family.  It is across the plaza from the Hilton and is designated as our quiet hotel.  Please access our online reservation system for making your hotel reservations.

For LACon V, we still have 2 wonderful options in the Anaheim Marriott and Hilton Anaheim.

The Anaheim Marriott is located just 0.1 miles from the Hilton across a pedestrian friendly plaza (no cars allowed). The Marriott offers options starting @ $189 (before taxes/fees) a night for Kings and $209 (before taxes/fees) a night for Double/Double.  The Marriott also has numerous options that cater to your food needs from a grab and go market to NFuse Restaurant.   Self parking for those staying at the Marriott is $40 plus a 10% discount.  So, if you prefer quiet nights after you have partied and/or parking costs are a concern, this is the hotel for you.  For more information, please visit our webpage Anaheim Marriott LAcon V..

The Hilton Anaheim will contain both Programming activities and hosting our Parties in the evening.  This hotel has some rooms left, but it promises to be lively for much of the night with parties and other activities. It is a great option for those that want to be right in the action.  At $179 (before taxes/fees) a night for Kings and Queen/Queen, some room types have become limited.  The Hilton also has a number of food options available for all times of the day from Starbucks® in the morning to grab and go meals in their food court to sit down options at Poppy’s Restaurant.  Self and Valet parking at the Hilton are at the prevailing rates and are currently $49 for Self and $59 for Valet (subject to change). More info available at this webpage, Hilton Anaheim LAcon V.

Community Fund  – Donate To Help This Fund

Making a financial gift in any amount to the LA Worldcon Community Fund (LAWCF) makes a huge difference!  No gift is too small because it all adds up.

The LA Worldcon Community Fund (LAWCF), inspired by the funds and initiatives that have come before, is here to facilitate bringing more people into our community. The LAWCF is a special fund to help defray the expenses of attending LAcon V for the following groups of people:

  • Fans or program participants from historically marginalized racial and ethnic groups
  • LGBTQIA+ fans or program participants
  • Los Angeles and Anaheim area fans of limited means

If you would like to learn more about the LAWCF and how donations will be utilized, or would like to apply for assistance to attend LAcon V, please examine the information provided at https://www.lacon.org/communityfund/.  On behalf of LAcon V, we thank you for your generous support of the LAWCF; click here to donate.

Do you have a membership you can no longer use? If circumstances have changed and you will no longer be able to attend, you may donate the Attending portion of your membership to the Fund instead.  Please email the fund administrators at fund@lacon.org to get the donation process started.  Again, thank you for your support.

Events

The Play’s The Thing

LAcon V is working on a number of productions  that are related to science fiction and fantasy themes.  They will take place on the smaller stages at the convention.

LAcon V is proud to announce a performance of the play ROOT, which is making its world premiere this June at the Hollywood Fringe.

In the near future, death isn’t the end, just a countdown.  Every single person is granted three months of digital life extension after their physical body dies.  What will you do with yours?  Wrap up loose ends?  Donate some to a loved one?  Or sell it on the open market?  Could someone, in theory, live forever, if they had enough cash?
Or are they simply Running Out Of Time?

Calling All Cosplayers – LAcon V Masquerade

Want to be part of the LAcon V Masquerade or just show a costume onstage?  To do so, please check out the information provided on our website at https://www.lacon.org/masquerade/

To appear onstage yourself, you must be an attending member of LAcon V.  If you want another person to display your costume, they must be an attending member and you must be at least a supporting member of the convention. Remember, the costume should also be related to a Science Fiction, Fantasy, Cosplay, Comics, Anime or related theme. For additional information and to register, please visit the link above.

Art Show

LAcon V has a fantastic show planned, run by experienced people. The Art Show is open to all attendees for browsing and purchasing, and space in the art show is available to any artist, professional or fan.  The art show already has well over 70 artists registered so far!  If you are interested in having your art entered in the show, the link to register is here.   The cost is $45 per panel 3’ by 4’ and/or table space (1/2 a standard hotel table or 30” by 36”).

ART Shuttle Update

For years, we have been telling you about the ART shuttle that could take you around Anaheim to visit various food locations and historical areas.  Unfortunately, we have to announce the discontinuation of this service.  ART was privately funded and the sponsor has decided to cancel its sponsorship.  The city has been unable to find a new sponsor, so the ART shuttle is no longer available.  You can still get around Anaheim on the local public transit system and, of course, Uber and Lyft are also available.

Safer Spaces/Affinity Spaces & The Oasis

Our Safer Spaces/Affinity Spaces are here to give you a place to rest, connect, and be yourself during the convention. If you need a break or a place to connect with others who share your experiences? Our Safer Spaces/Affinity Spaces are designed to help you feel safe, supported, and at ease.

  • BIPOC/AAPINH Safer Space/Affinity Space – A space for Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian attendees to gather, relax, and build community.
  • LGBTQ+ Safer Space/Affinity Space – A welcoming space for LGBTQ+ attendees to connect, share, and feel affirmed.
  • Disability Safer Space/Affinity Space – A comfortable, accessible space designed with a range of needs in mind.
  • Interfaith Safer Space/Affinity Space – A quiet place for reflection, conversation, and spiritual connection for people of all faiths.
  • Calming Safer Space/Affinity Space – A low-stimulation, quiet environment where you can step away from noise and recharge.

The Oasis

The Oasis is a calm, welcoming place where you can rest and recharge at your own pace. You don’t have to talk to anyone unless you want to. You’ll find simple activities like coloring, short readings, and self-care supplies. If you need something, just ask—we’re here to help.

Social Media

LACon is up and running as @laworldcon on Facebook, X, Instagram and Threads, while on Bluesky, you can follow us @laworldcon.bsky.social or on Mastodon wandering.shop/@lacon. We’re always looking for content, so if you have anything you wish to share related to LAcon V, Anaheim or you think would be of interest to other attendees , please contact Taylor Deatherage (taylor.deatherage@lacon.org), Zoe Deterding (zoe.deterding@lacon.org) or Dave Hogg (david.hogg@lacon.org).
