Housing Reservations are Now Open

We are excited to announce that housing is open. We are grateful for everyone patience as we worked through technical issues in the reservation system

For LACon V we have 2 wonderful options in the Hilton Anaheim and Anaheim Marriott.

  • The Hilton Anaheim will be a main hotel of the convention containing both Programming activities and hosting our Parties in the evening. It is a great option for those that want to be right in the action. At $179 (before taxes/fees) a night for Kings and Queen/Queen we have all the possible options you could be looking for to be right in the middle of all the action. The Hilton also has a number of food options available for all times of the day from Starbucks® in the morning to grab and go meals in their food court to sit down options at Poppy’s Restaurant. For more information please visit our webpage Hilton Anaheim LACon V. To book here please use this booking link.

  • The Anaheim Marriott is located just 0.1 miles from the Hilton across a pedestrian friendly plaza. The Marriott offers options starting @ $189 (before taxes/fees) a night for Kings and $209 (before taxes/fees) a night for Double/Double. It also has numerous options to cater to your food needs from a grab and go market to NFuse Restaurant. For more information please visit our webpage Anaheim Marriott LACon V. If this is the option for you please use this booking link.

The plaza mentioned between the hotels will also be active during the convention. Beyond being able to cross between hotels or sit under the palm trees and soak up the California sun we plan to have food trucks during the food hours so this will be a social hub out in the fresh air.

Community

LAcon V is thrilled to announce that we are providing sponsorship for two events, one local to Los Angeles and one international. Both are for events that feature prominent online aspects and are part of (or closely adjacent to) LAcon V. Please consider joining and supporting both of them!

“The Joy Who Lived” (March 31-April 12) is a festival of comedy and theater in Los Angeles (which also streams its shows online!), with 30+ shows including tv pilot readings (Like Robo Waitress Assassins!), interactive shows (Should We Spend Our Lives Together, a choose-your-own relationship experience), solo shows (Syrian Soap — “a clown/standup show about being my ancestor’s worst nightmare”), and plays full of social activism (No Access, a shadow puppet show about the reality of society vs disability). You’ll see recognizable names: Vico Ortiz (Our Flag Means Death); Jiavani (Dropout); Alex Song-Xia (Dimension 20); Valerie Rose Lohman (What Remains of Edith Finch); Boone Williams (Dragon Prince); Laser Webber (the Doubleclicks); and more! And oh yes, all of the shows are created/produced by trans and gender non-conforming folks. Tickets available now at joywholived.com.

Eastercon is the UK’s annual national convention for science fiction and fantasy, bringing together fans, creators, and industry professionals for a long weekend of ideas, stories, and community. It has been running since 1948. Each year, it offers a rich program of panels, talks, and events featuring guests from writing, art, academia, and fandom, alongside social activities and celebrations of the genre’s history and future.

Since 2021, Eastercon has been committed to maintaining a strong virtual program to broaden accessibility and keep the national and international fan community connected, something that is very dear to LAcon V. We are supporting their virtual program so that members who cannot travel can still enjoy being part of the convention.

This year’s Guests of Honor include author and academic Dr. Karen Lord; authors R. J. Barker and Emma Newman; and fan guests Serena Culfeather and John Wilson.

If you want to join the convention or catch up on the program afterward, you can do so here: https://eastercon2026.org/register

Events

LAcon V Masquerade

As usual, LAcon V is hosting a masquerade for the delight of our attendees. We welcome all interested parties to enter and be evaluated by our panel of judges. This is in addition to the costumes worn by those wandering the halls of the hotel and convention center.

If you would like to participate in the formal masquerade, information about it and rules for entering can be found on our website, https://www.lacon.org/masquerade.

Exhibit Hall

All interest forms are now active on the website!

This includes:

The Exhibits Hall is starting to fill up fast – we will be expanding into the hotel hallways with overflows of interesting exhibits including SF/Fantasy themed Lego constructions, Fannish History, Costumes, and more to come.

If you know someone who has a cool prop, ‘star car’, costume, or other exhibit-worthy item, please fill out the Exhibits’ form so we can get in touch with you.

Art Show

The LAconV is open to all attendees and space in the show is available to any artist, professional or fan, whether attending the convention or not. But you must reserve space for your artwork.

The LAconV Art Show Registration Form is now online and can be found here: https://scifiinc99.regfox.com/lacon-v-art-show, and spaces are already being sold. You do not need to be a member of LAcon V to enter art work, but if you wish to attend any convention activities in person or online, you must be a member of the con. If you have any questions about the art show, please contact us via artshow@lacon.org.

Hurry, as space is limited.

Social Media

LACon is up and running as @laworldcon on Facebook, X, Instagram and Threads, while on Bluesky, you can follow us @laworldcon.bsky.social or on Mastodon wandering.shop/@lacon. We’re always looking for content, so if you have any information, please contact Taylor Deatherage (taylor.deatherage@lacon.org), Zoe Deterding (zoe.deterding@lacon.org) or Dave Hogg (david.hogg@lacon.org).
