LAcon V is excited to share our joy for all things gaming related with you. We want to celebrate the diverse world of gaming, showcasing all the amazing creativity and passion of gamers, game designers, and game makers.
We know that gaming is where friendships are forged, where epic stories come to life, where we cooperate, compete, and conceive whole new worlds through play. Whether you are a long-term gamer or this is your first time then we are aiming to have something for you. Board games, cards, dice, roleplays, LARPs, video games: the list goes on. Whether you are looking to try something new or venture forth once more in a beloved game, our gaming rooms will be there ready and waiting.
Gaming is working to provide:
- A board game library with games to check out and play with your fellow attendees
- Scheduled games with signups
- Playtesting: if you have a new game and are going to be part of the dealers’ room then we can help you playtest with an enthusiastic crew
- Video games
- Virtual games for those attending online (or those who just want to hang out from their hotel room)
- Program items including panels, talks, table talks, and playalongs
However, we need you!

Running games
Game Masters are the backbone of every amazing RPG adventure: without you chaos would reign. Dedicated players who want to share their favorite board and card games are how we find our new favorite games. So if you’d like to run a game or a tournament, whether in-person or online, please fill out the Run a Game Survey.
Panels, Table Talks, and Lectures, oh my!
We don’t just love to play games, we love to talk about them too! Want to talk about the history of your favorite video game series? Share some tips on getting started in the game industry? Compare and contrast game designs? Squee about the best new games you’ve seen in the past year? Program has you covered.
